NTSC/PAL is something that first needs to be supported by the TV - all modern TV's these days support all formats. You can get this information from your TV spec page to be sure. Another device that needs to support NTSC/PAL is your DVD player - as long as it accepts both format discs and your TV has NTSC/PAL playback - all the HDMI cable does is transmit the digital video signal.
#3.) Using HDMI from a 220V DVD should work just fine as HDMI just transmits a digital signal - not electrical current.

Also one more note - check your TV specs - for wattage - you may not need a 1000W converter - a smaller one will work as well.

Hope this helps.
MavMaverick24https://www.blogger.com/profile/06690750339326069841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36384613.post-34603409768332671392014-11-27T21:33:06.250+05:302014-11-27T21:33:06.250+05:30Hi Mav

However not sure if frequency difference from 60Hz to 50Hz, if not converted, will have any impact. Second if I hook up Set top box using HDMI, there shall be no issue about NTSC and PAL. Can I connect my DVD player using HDMI. DVD player runs on 220V but I am only connecting HDMI from DVD player to TV. Will I be able to watch Hindi movies from CD
Will appreciate your quick response
ThanksAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12068618017162961180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36384613.post-52195490549140483782013-07-21T04:57:25.984+05:302013-07-21T04:57:25.984+05:30Hi Mav,

I am planning to buy a 42inches LED TV for my parents, can you please suggest the best TV in this. Although it clears a lot of confusion, I want to see if my case is slightly different and if I can save some $$$.

I have a Samsung 40 inch LED TV. I upgraded my TATA Sky SD to TATA Sky HD and also have an option to use HDMI.

Is there a way I can save the expense of the PAL-NTSC converter. I read things on different forums (but nothing concrete) that says that there is some frequency and other settings on the STB that the service provider needs to do. Do you have any better insight on this ?

Is it true that with HDMI in the equation, NTSC or PAL is out of the equation?

Prarthanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00411372917825223172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36384613.post-91889996527853817792012-12-15T06:51:49.415+05:302012-12-15T06:51:49.415+05:30Hello Harshad - as it turns out I am visiting Indi...Hello Harshad - as it turns out I am visiting India at the moment as well.
